Hakan Şahin

Hakan Şahin studied at Maltepe Military High School, the Turkish Military Academy, KHO Defense Sciences Institute and NATO Defense College. He served as platoon, company and battalion commander in Hatay, Şırnak, Kosovo, İstanbul, Edirne and Hakkari. He worked in the Resources Directorate of NATO Headquarters in Naples and in the International Operations Branch of the General Staff. He received his master's degree in public administration and his doctorate in political science from the Faculty of Political Sciences at I.U. His doctoral thesis was published as a book titled "The Military, Society and Politics in Turkey.” Şahin focuses on defense policies and civil-military relations.
